Become part of the KGMC family

When you join the Knoxville Gay Men's Chorus, you are doing more than just becoming part of a choral group; you are becoming part of a family. The Knoxville Gay Men's Chorus strives to provide a welcoming atmosphere in which anyone will find opportunities for musical excellence, high quality performances, camaraderie, support and lifelong friends...

A few items to note:

  • Time Commitment: KGMC presents two main concerts each year, usually in December and May with a few smaller concerts at Rossini Festival, Knox Pride and OUT-reach programs. Our regular rehearsals are every Monday night from 7 to 9:30pm. In addition, one or two special sectionals may be called each concert period, and a dress rehearsal is held the week of each concert.

  • Financial Commitment: The dues of KGMC are $50 per concert cycle.  Scholarships are available.

  • You must also arrange for your performance tuxedo and accessories. You can buy an inexpensive tuxedo from a tux rental shop, a discount store, or even on sale at a retail shop, but of course you can always rent a tux for each concert. The tux style will be communicated to you.

  • At early rehearsals everyone receives a packet of all the music and rehearsal CDs (of your voice part and balanced voices) for that concert period. Rehearsal tracks are also available for online download.

  • New members are given a big brother to help them get acquainted and provide support.

  • We have auditions for new members usually in August and late January or early February.

We look forward to singing with you!
